Newell rumours resurface
Several national daily newspapers have today run a story linking Mike Newell with the Leicester vacancy again.
Speculation that he will join them as manager in the summer, after becoming disillusioned about potential transfer funds, have been going the rounds since he turned down the opportunity in February.
Whether the papers have any concrete evidence or are merely currently short of material, we will have to wait and see.
However, his recent interviews suggest that he is planning for next season at Luton Town.
From a Leicester point of view, it would seem to make no sense at all to appoint Newell. He publicly rebuffed them after two meetings with them and before they even offered him the job, and Rob Kelly has performed very well since taking over from Craig Leviene and appears to be guiding them to safety.
Under his custody they have secured 14 points from 7 matches, which is almost promotion form.
My guess, for what it is worth, is that Mike will be guiding Luton Town to the play-offs next season.

who says we want him now? Utmost respect to the man as he was a fine servant for us at Leicester but we are rocking and rolling again - the players and fans are starting to believe in the new dawnof Rob Kelly. Micky would have been a popular choice but I'm not so sure he was ever going to come to us, maybe just trying to strengthen his own position. But you have to keep winning to do that. Only 5 points behind you now... if only we had your start to the season with our finish!!
