Luton winger appeals for calm

In hoping that Sunday’s local derby goes ahead without violence, the Trinidad and Tobago international told the club’s official site:

“I hope our fans will go there and make more noise then their fans because they can play an important part in the game. It is always going to be a real competitive game because both teams are going out to prove something.”

Edwards, who scored Luton’s goal in the 2-1 defeat at Kenilworth Road in January continued:

“Everyone wants to go there and enjoy themselves and hopefully there will not be the few hot-headed supporters who spoil things for Luton fans. My call will be for Luton fans to go to Watford with one intention, and that is to get behind the team and make sure they do everything possible to help us win the game.

“The lads are really looking forward to it. There is extra spice on the game because Watford have already gone one-up on us, but hopefully when we go to Watford we can overturn what they achieved when they came to Kenilworth Road.

“There is always something a bit special when it comes to local derby matches. Each team brings extra support and both sets of teams treat it a little bit like a cup final. I think going to their place will not be any different.”

I think he just about nailed it! Let’s get out there and support the team, stay off the pitch and keep the rivalry to banter and not violence.
