Emanuel back for the reserves
Luton Reserves played Ipswich reserves today at Kenilworth Road and were defeated 1-3. Good news for the Hatters was that Lewis Emanuel started the match after his long lay-off with a variety of injuries and misfortunes and lasted an hour before being subbed.
With much of the first team squad now fit, several were used in the match including Burgess, Hall, Reynolds, Charles and Ed A-A, and new loanee Mark Nwokeji also featured.
he Town fielded a strong side against their Championship counterparts with Andy Burgess, Asa Hall, Callum Reynolds, Ryan Charles, Mark Nwokeji and Ed Asafu-Adjaye all featuring.
Luton's goal was an equaliser for 1-1 when five minutes before half time Nwokeji hit a cracker from distance.
In the second half Nwokeji almost put the Hatters in front after rounding the keeper and shooting goalwards only to see a defender block it on the line.
However, Burgess handled in the box for a penalty and Counago buried it for 1-2.
Nwokeji did enough to suggest that he will be a great signing and was full of effort and running and a header with about 15 minutes left almost got an equaliser.
Justr before the end Ipswich killed the game of at 1-3 but it was not a bad performance by the team and 3-1 was a bit flattering to the visitors.
