Luton ins and outs on deadline day
Luton have announced several movements of players both in and out on the deadline day for loan signings. After today no loan signings or transfers are allowed until the opening of the transfer window.
Early in the day Coventry winger Ashley Cain joined on loan subject to approval from the Football Association, Football League and Football Conference.
19 yr old Cain is said to be blessed with fantastic pace and will be a real asset to the squad.
In many ways it is sad to announce that lifelong Hatters fan Andy Burgess has moved to Mansfield Town on loan until January when he will join them permanently. I hope that doesn't come back to bite us in the arris because on his day he can be awesome. However, his 'dream move' to Luton has been marred by lengthy injuries and new Boss Richard Money obviously did not rate him as one for the future!
Steve Basham, who has hardly had a look in since joining at the end of the last transfer window, has gone out on loan till the end of January to Hayes & Yeading.
The big news of the day will please many Hatters fans who have mentioned this player as the sort of player we need. Luton have signed Matthew Barnes-Homer from Kidderminster Harriers on loan until January when he will begin a two and a half year contract on permanent terms with the Hatters. Quality signing! He has been a regular scorer for Kidderminster and should be the 20 a season striker we have been lacking.
The 23 year-old has scored 34 goals in 77 starts including 21 last season and 9 so far this season. That'll do for me!
Ryan Charles is going to Kidderminster on loan until January as part of the deal.

No. Barnes-Homer played in the FACup for Kidderminster so is cup-tied and Cain does not arrive until Monday.
