Luton sign Kovacs
Luton have today reported that they have signed 6' 4' central defender Janos Kovacs on a permanent deal to the end of the current season.
We reported last week that Luton were interested in signing the 24 yr-old Hungarian from Lincoln City amid interest from other clubs.
The signing is quite a coup for the Hatters with Ferencvaros reported as being another interested party. Lincoln released him from his contract to facilitate the deal, after an 18 month spell at Sincil Bank.
Kovács made 66 appearances for Lincoln scoring four times, was named as their Home Player of the Season by Lincoln fans.
A no nonsense defender reputed to consistently head away anything that comes near him, he goes straight into the squad against Histon tomorrow, with Shane Blackett carrying an injury after being replaced early on in the game at Gateshead.
