'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Luton's dodgy home form continues

Despite dominating proceedings for much of the match Luton lost at home to AFC Wimbledon by 1-2 on Saturday.

Despite their only having three shots on target, two of them finished in the net which was enough to trump Luton's one goal reward from numerous opportunities.

After a good start by the Hatters who looked up for the task, during which time Jarvis hit the bar, Wimbledon took the lead against the run of play when Nathan Elder scored.

Tom Craddock equalised almost immediately and Luton continued to batter the visitors' defence, but as with most of their home defeats this season, a lack of taking opportunities came to bite them in the backside when Danny Kedwell hit a superb goal to retake the lead midway through the second half.

Luton responded well and had enough chances to have buried this match and two others, but a combination of blanket defending, good goalkeeping, bad misses and misfortune on a gluepot pitch allowed the Wombles to cling on for an unlikely and somewhat undeserved victory.

Another three points squandered and the title looks well out of reach now, barring Chester's expulsion AND a complete collapse by Oxford, which looks unlikely.

uton Town: Mark Tyler; Adam Newton, Janos Kovacs, George Pilkington, Freddie Murray; Rossi Jarvis (Jake Howells 87), Asa Hall (Liam Hatch 76),Kevin Nicholls (Matthew Barnes-Homer 61), Keith Keane, Tom Craddock, Kevin Gallen.

Substitutes not used: Shane Blackett, Shane Gore.
