Luton announce released player list
Luton Town have confirmed the release of four players who are out of contract as they begin to restructure the playing side for next season.
In what is described as the first phase of this process, Shane Gore, Rossi Jarvis, Asa Hall and Steve Basham have been allowed to leave the club.
None of these is a great surprise since Basham had been on a season long loan and Gore was a stop gap in an emergency. Rossi Jarvis and Asa Hall have been out of favour during the successful part of the season when the Hatters won 9 successive matches and were unbeaten in 14.
In addition, loan players Liam Hatch, Mark Nwokeji, Craig Nelthorpe and Gavin Caines are all returning to their parent clubs, despite the option to buy Hatch being part of his season long loan deal.
The club has thanked all the players for their service and wished them well.
I believe that high on the list of priorities will be to secure the services of midfielder Simon Heslop, who has been a great success in his loan spell at the club.
