Luton Boss admits interviews

Mike Newell has stated that he was interviewed for the managerial posts at Derby and Ipswich and went as far as to admit that Derby offered him the post.

However, his heart is still with the squad he is building at Luton and he turned the offer down. He was reported s saying that if he had wanted to be Derby Manager then he would have been, by now.

He is still being linked with the Crystal Palace vacancy, with reports suggesting that He and Peter Taylor of Hull City are top of the Palace chairman's list for the post.

Mike has been continually frustrated at the lack of communication from Chairman Bill Tomlins and also stated that there has been no progress with his contract extension since the Chairman announced Mike had agreed terms two months ago, only for Mike to refute the claims.

Newell claims that he still does not know what his transfer budget is for the new season although he is linked with several targets including Chris Shuker of Barnsley, Adam Boyd of Hartlepool and Danny Senda of Wycombe Wanderers.

Just wrote an article about Newell Vs Tomlins and didn,t put my name to it,could you please attach Thanks LORD LUTON.
LORD LUTON
It Seems to me that the Newell Vs Tomlins battle is only going to have one outcome.Either Newell will leave or he will be pushed out. Tomlins is stubborn and i think Newell is playing a game he cannot win. Since when has the board ever listened to the fans !! Tomlin is stuck to the club like a Barnacle to a ship, and we all know what happens when a Chairman is forced out.........They take the Ship down with them !!!!!
LORD LUTON
why would he want to go to the derby scum your well better than them.

It seems like its a strange situation that will only be resolved by one or the other leaving. It dose nothing for the confidence of the players.
