Luton could miss out again

Barnsley's Chris Shuker could stay at Oakwell, according to manager Andy Ritchie. He was said to be 'confident' that Shuker will re-sign next week.

However, as Mike Newell is on holiday, it is just possible that Shuker is waiting to hear from Newell before re-signing at Barnsley.

Luton's one-time targets Kevin McNaughton, Vince Pericard and Neil Danns have signed for Cardiff City, Stoke City and Birmingham City respectively.

Mike Newell has interest in other players and most contracts seem to end at the beginning of July each year, so there could be activity in the near future.

Mike is known to be looking for at least one player in each department, defence, midfield and striking.

The Danny Senda saga is not yet over. Difficulties relating to alleged agent demands could yet be settled. Talks are due to take place with Richard Langley and possibly a Finnish Central Defender.

" you are not having a lot of look in the transfer market are you?"

Long time to go yet! We cannot afford to throw money at it as some of the CCC sides can. Newell is very astutue and he will bring in a couple of gems at the right price before the start of the season.

Who's in charge of your lot nowadays, millers4eva?

Danns was sold for £850K which is out of our price range and Pericard has followed Tony Pulis (who had him on a very succesful loan spell) from Plymouth to Stoke. Pericard had stated he'd sign for whoever/wherever Pulis was manager.

Trundle to Luton? Are you having a joke? Swans wouldn't sell him for anything less than a million, don't think those Hatters have that kind of spair change. Can;t believe Newell's still there.
