Luton to sign Senda

The Ex-Southampton apprentice and Youth Team player joined Wycombe during the 1998/99 season. He was originally a striker and made his Wycombe full debut in January 2000. Lawrie Sanchez saw him as a right wing back and he has been almost ever-present in the Chairboys' line-up since the 2001/2 season, gaining immense popularity with the fans.

Tony Adams' appointment as manager saw the player take a right midfield role.

The player has been tracked by Mike Newell for some time; a bid was believed to have been turned down by Wycombe in the last transfer window, when the Wanderers were still in the frame for possible promotion.

The player's contract has now expired and at 25 years of age he now becomes a free agent and therefore a free transfer.

He fits the mould of a Newell signing, as he could obviously be used as a midfielder a defender or a striker and gives the manager more options in the right back, right wing-back and right midfield roles along with Carlos Edwards, Kevin Foley and Ahmet Brkovic. (Assuming that Carlos is not sold in the meantime!)

An offer to the player is believed to have been accepted in principle by the player two weeks ago, but reported problems with agent payment put the transfer on hold.

I understand that the problems have now been sorted out and the player will sign in the next few days.
