Mike Newell has handed Lewis Emanuel a further week to stake his claim for a contract.
He has performed very well against lesser opposition and Newell wants to see how he fares against Fulham on Friday evening.
It seems that the odds are in favour of his signing the 22 yr-old player.
'We're happy with Lewis so far,' said Stein. 'So we will therefore keep him for another week.
'If he does well against better opposition, we will have to think about signing him.'
Meanwhile, Sam Stockley failed to impress and was released and has now signed for Wycombe Wanderers, and one time target Danny Senda is currently on trial at Leeds United.
