Mike Newell has told www.lutontown.co.uk that he is staying and intends to continue to develop the team he has brought along to 10th in the CCC last season.
'I have made my decision and I am staying here, so people who are worrying about that don't need to worry any more. This is something I need to sit down with the Board of Directors about when I get back.'
On the subject of Carlos Edwards, he moved to confirm that it is by no means a 'done deal' that he is going to Watford.
'He is with us in Sweden at the moment and he is one of our players. That's it.' Mike stated.
e also confirmed that he is active in the transfer market and that a bid has been made for a striker to replace Steve Howard.
He commented: 'We have made a bid for a player, but there are not too many Steve Howard's about. I can understand that the supporters are concerned but if players want to leave then I am not going to try and keep them.'
Luton play Nasets BK on Wednesday evening in the second and final match of their mini Swedish tour.
