Luton: Nicholls leaves
Leeds have today completed the signing of Kevin Nicholls for £700,000.
The midfielder, 27, has signed a contract that will keep him at Elland Road until 2010.
Nicholls made nearly 200 appearances for Luton, scoring 33 goals and also had spells at Wigan, Brighton (loan) and Charlton.
Thanks Kevin for all your efforts with the Town and good luck with your new club: usual exception taken as read!

Best wishes to nico, Quality player ,sold a little too cheaply for my liking but has left with cult status. Just hope the Luton faithfull get behind him when we play Leeds.But not too much!!!!!!!!!!!

what i cant understand is Leeds pay 700K andgive Kev a 4 year deal. Kev didnt want to leave Luton, so why didnt the club offer Kev a 4 year deal? Thats planning for you. Good Luck Kev, the club will find out their mistake soon enough.

I'm not sure Kev has four more years in his dodgy knees! Neither am I sure he really wanted to stay. As I said in the transfer saga article, both Kev and Stevo need to cash in on what may be their only chance of one more big deal to set them up for retirement.

I have to disagree with you there Scotty. Having spoken to Kev many a time, it was clear to me the man loves the club and would of signed a new contract IF it had been offered. I also felt he wanted to stay at the club after and work with the players too.
Still, its onwards and upwards as it always appears to be with OUR team!!!!

I'k sorry BH, I wasn't having a go at them. I meant the bit about his knees, and he needs to get a good deal this time round, so if he wasn't going to get it at Luton I don't blame him taking the Leeds offer. I have nothing but respect for the man and I wish him well... and the same to Stevo. It seems to be win-win as Luton have got decent money for the pair of them. However I do feel that they are on the downslope of their careers, but we'll have to wait and see if they prove me wrong.

NOW THE SMOKE HAS CLEARED, IT SEEMS IT MIGHT BE THE BEST MOVE FOR ALL PARTIES INVOLVED.....A NICE PAY DAY FOR BOTH PLAYERS AND A BUMPER PAY DAY FOR LUTONS COFFERS .IF THE INFLUX OF CASH HELPS MIKE REBUILD FOR THE FUTURE WITH THE PURCHASE OF NEW YOUNGER PLAYERS LIKE ADAM BOYD AND HOPEFULLY OTHERS , IT CAN ONLY BE BETTER FOR LUTON TOWN F.C. IN THE LONG RUN......ONWARD AND UPWARD!!!!!
