Mike Newell on Lutontown.co.uk:
'We finished the game quite strongly and if we'd have got something out of it, it wouldn't have been undeserved.'
On the penalty claim towards the end when Vine was pulled back in the box he said:
'I thought it was a penalty, and so did our lads. I don't think the referee had a bad game, to be honest, but he would have to have been very, very brave at that stage of the game to give it.
'He said there were so many bodies in there that he didn't want to guess!'
Newell was pleased with the effort given and went on:
'We were caught cold at the start of the second half, but they've never put us under any sustained pressure. But we've lost the game and we've got nothing to show for it, again.'
On new signing Sam Parkin he observed:
'We know what he's capable of. He's come here with a bit of a point to prove after the disappointing season he had last year at Ipswich. I think he'll do really well for us.
'He had the option of going to Preston. I think the geography helped a little bit. He's a London lad and he feels he'd be more settled by playing his football down south.
'We think he's got goals in him and he's a handful. He's quite mobile for a big lad and he's different to what we've already got.
'We've only got three strikers at the Club and you can't go through the season with only three strikers. We also need competition for places.
'We lose Markus and Feeno now for a couple of international matches, so I just hope they come back fit.
On the subject of injuries went on:
'(Chris Coynes knee injury)... flared up on Tuesday after the cup game so he's going to see a specialist about it next week.
'You don't want thirty-odd players. I'm not after that. But we're down to the bare bones as far as defenders go, and I want quality to replace the players we're missing.
'You can't go into games with just two fit centre halves, that's just ridiculous'
Mick McCarthy Told wolves.co.uk:
'I knew he (Jemal Johnson) would have an impact on the team, but I would never have guessed he would score two winning goals in his first two starts for us.
'It was a super strike. He is a player who caught my eye when I saw him playing in a reserve game.
'I also think Carl Cort did well today. (must have been watching a different game:-) )Having missed the last three games he looked hungry.
'Leon Clarke didn't do anything wrong to lose his place but I just thought, having been out, Corty would give me something different.
'It would be wrong to suggest that we won easily. We had one great strike but we can't say we were the best team for 90 minutes - so my feet are firmly planted on the ground.'
