They say a manager is living on borrowed time when he loses the dressing room.
However, there`s also the suggestion that all is far from well when the manager loses the confidence of the supporters.
Now I`m not saying Buckle has lost the complete faith of the Kenilworth Road support, but yesterday there were the first few signs that all is not well on the terraces.
A poor performance was greeted by a chorus of boos as the Hatters faithful voiced their displeasure, prompting Buckle to remark to the local journalists afterwards,
"It`s difficult to take when we lose and we apologize to the supporters."
"The players know the pressure they are under, you can see it written all over them. But on the whole this year we`ve been value for money and we`ve got to get back to that."
"It was a poor performance but we`ve got to be man enough to take it and move forward."
"I`m going to remain calm and consistent and back the players."
Time will tell if Buckle is the right man to take us forward but when those doubts start to creep in then they do tend to escalate don`t they?
