1985 - FA Cup Run Revisited!
With Luton Town having reached the fifth round (proper) of the FA Cup, we thought we`d dabble into the archives and recall another great cup run, that of 1985.
We`ve done so, purely because just like in 1985, we`ve drawn Millwall at Kenilworth Road.
We also thought we`d use the old adage about a picture being worth a thousand words, so why not shove in a few video clips you can indulge yourselves in!
First up is the tie with Watford, at Kenilworth Road, a tie that was to be settled by goal from Wayne Tuirner, take it away,
Next up is that infamous night when Millwall descended upon Kenilworth Road. This time, against the most intimidating background I can recall at the famous old ground. See for yourselves the menacing hordes parading around the pitch.
As for the game, it was settled by a splendid goal from Brian Stein - judge for yourself,
Lastly, we`re at Villa Park, for the FA Cup semi-final. Villa Park was packed to the rafters to see Luton take the lead, through Ricky Hill, the rest is as they say, history, but enjoy what I still feel is one of the best goals the Luton side, of that era, scored,
Looking back through all three clips, my personal favourite is the winner against Watford, not because they`re the old enemy but because of the sheer passion shown by the loyal supporters behind the Oak Road goal, my how football has changed!
