The Hatters hopes of pushing for an automatic promotion spot floundered in a tempestuous encounter at Kenilworth Road this afternoon.

I guess, it`s fair to say that Forest Green arrived with similar ideals so, perhaps, they`ll be just as disappointed as we are this evening.

Paul Buckle, after the defeat to Barrow last weekend, a Barrow who were slammed 8-1 by Mansfield this afternoon, shuffled his pack slightly with three changes.

As it turned out, Luton got off to the perfect start when Andre Gray put us 1-0 up heading home a cross from new-boy Martin.

But Forest Green weren`t behind for long with Matt Taylor
Both sides were pushing for a winner and Gray had a great chance to give Luton the three points they craved when he was brought down by Jamie Turley in the area. Unfortunately, Gary hadn`t read the script and his spot kick cleared the bar.

On the negative side, Luton finished the match with only ten-men on the pitch when Alex Lawless was sent off for two yellow card offences. However, our visitors were also reduced to ten men when Al Bangura received a straight red card for violent conduct.

If Luton are going to beat Millwall in the FA Cup next Saturday then they`ll have to do better than this.
