It`s never a good thing to see a player take that long walk, after being shown the red-card but we`d imagine Alex Lawless, when taking that long walk yesterday, had a wry smile on his face.
You see, if it were not for the fact we`re stuck in a situation whereby fixture congestion is the buzz word, then Alex would be contemplating missing out on the plum FA Cup 5th round tie, against Millwall, next Saturday.
Instead the red card, received after two yellow cards were shown by the referee, Neil Kinseley, means that Alex will serve his single game suspension when the Hatters face Dartford this Tuesday evening.
Like we said, a lucky escape and on the back of that we`re hoping that Lawless can continue to guide us through this magical cup run with a winning goal, just like he did against Wolves in the 3rd round.
