The FA Cup brought some much welcomed financial rewards to Luton, however as some Football League club have also found cup exploits impact on league form.
Luton, like Bradford (who are League Cup Finalists) and Oldham (who took Everton to a replay on Saturday in the FA Cup) have struggled in the league in the wake of a successful FA Cup run.
Victory over Millwall, and a place in the quarter finals, wasn't something that would have been turned down but now The Hatters can turn their attention fully to the Non-League schedule and next up are Macclesfield with Luton in need of a result after recent defeats to Dartford and Barrow, which leave them nine-points off the play off places, a position that has been achieved year after year since dropping out of the Football League without being able to regain that Football League return.
The FA Cup run was great, however now it's back to the bread and butter of the league and getting a promotion bid back on track.
