Throwing in the Towel

I know it is sacrilege to suggest so but are we throwing in the towel when it comes to our hopes of promotion this season?

The reason I ask is that following the (very) disappointing 1-1 draw at Moss Rose, against Macclesfield, some very harsh words were said by our club captain Ronnie Henry.

Obviously very disappointed about the result, Henry is quoted as having remarked to the local media, following the defeat,

"I just don`t think the players that we`ve got at the moment are good enough or strong enough because I know what it takes to get out of this league and it`s definitely not what we`ve got in there."

"We`ve let ourselves down as they`re down to 10 men and an outfield player in goal, but we just can`t score. We`re just not good enough, that`s the bottom line."

"It can only be that the players in there are not good enough and it needs to be a major turnaround in the players` attitude. I can`t handle losing, it`s upsetting me a lot at the minute what`s going on."

And us too Ronny and us too!

But are they the words of a skipper that has thrown the promotion towel in the ring or simply the words of a man bitterly disappointed at seeing two points, slip away at Moss Rose?
