The 'Buckle-gate` mystery deepens by the day.
Paul Buckle`s departure from the Kenilworth Road hot-seat could remain one of the unsolved mysteries of our recent history.
This time last week, having just been knocked out of the FA Cup 5th round, by Millwall, Buckle intimated that he had a meeting lined up with Gary Sweet.
Reading between the lines, it appeared that Buckle wanted the vast majority of the money generated by the cup run, rumoured to be around £500,000, to strengthen the squad, was he denied this?
Did the board feel that the money would be better used in turning us solvent or did they feel that after bringing a plethora of players to Kenilworth Road, Buckle had done enough business in the transfer market without results improving significantly?
Whatever did happen, in that meeting, remains a mystery but the outcome certainly ensured another chapter in the history of our football club had been closed!
