What a Difference a Year Makes

As we`ve mentioned before, the fortunes of Alex Lawless have swung full circle in a year.

Lawless has gone from zero to hero and the news that Alex has decided to put pen-to-paper on a new two year deal rather than sign for a League One club, is most welcome

The 30 year-old is what we`d call an integral part of Project Luton and the new deal infers Alex, like us, is desperate to play his part in what we all hope will be a promotion campaign.

Naturally, John Still is pleased that the player who made 48 appearances for the Hatters last season, wants to say with the gaffer remarking to the official club site,

'Alex has had a great year."

'And I have been really pleased with his contribution since I have been at the club."

'The fact that League One clubs wanted him - and I'm aware of who those clubs are - is a fantastic testament to what he thinks of Luton Town."

'He's got a great association with this club and I think in his mind he's thinking, 'I've been here three years and if I leave now it might be the best time, and I don't want miss out on that'.'

Congratulations and thanks to all those at Kenilworth Road who played a part in ensuring Lawless stayed.
