Hatters Earn First Pre-Season Win

Hatters Earn First Pre-Season Win

After the disappointment of losing their opening pre-season fixture to Boreham Wood, on Saturday, Luton got back to winning ways against Hitchin Town last night.

In a traditional pre-season curtain-raiser at Top Field, watched by a very respectable crowd of 1,103, John Still opted to field a strong Hatters line-up.

In an almost oppressive climate, the first half ended 0-0; with both sides going close on a couple of occasions.

The second half started in a similar manner but in a late burst the Hatters showed their class with a four goal burst.

The goals came from Jon Shaw, Shaun Whalley, David Martin and Jonathan Smith.

All in all, a better result and performance than that we witnessed against Boreham Wood.
