A Week Is a Long Time (In Football)

A Week Is a Long Time (In Football)

After our disappointing start to the season, whereby we`ve taken a measly four points from the nine available and languish in the bottom half of the table, it`s a week before we play our next game.

Forest Green Rovers (a) was always going to be a challenge with Forest Green being tipped as probable promotion candidates.

But with the game being a week away, John Still has time to work with the squad and get them bonded as a unit whilst also trying to look at what went wrong against Macclesfield, where we were lucky to get anything from the game.

Speaking after the Macclesfield fixture, Still is quoted in the local media as having remarked about the week-long break,

"I think it is a good opportunity to just sit down and analyse things."

"You do not always get the opportunity to do that when the games come Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday so I think that will benefit us."

"We need to take stock of the past week and look for the positives and also sort out the negatives."

At this moment in time I`d suggest there are more negatives than positives to sort out.

How about you?
