Deal Breaks Down at 11th Hour

Deemed surplus to requirements, it appears that a move for Scott Rendell broke down on transfer deadline day.

Rendell, the goal-scoring hero of our magnificent FA Cup victory at Premier League Norwich City last season, had a deal lined up but it would appear that the un-named club he was set to join developed cold feet at the 11th hour.

The late breakdown of the move prevented any of the other clubs rumoured to be looking to do a deal from doing so with Gary Sweet revealing to the local media,

"We agreed a deal with one club who backed out at 10pm."

"Another club was interested but there was insufficient time remaining."

It remains to be seen what happens to Scott now!
