'If It's Football, It's Vital'

And the Row Continues to Rumble On…….

The simmering war of words between Cambridge United and Luton Town has moved up a level in the last day or so.

It seems that Richard Money (shown out of the managerial door by Luton) has struck a raw nerve by suggesting that Luton pay League One wages to lure players to Kenilworth.

Initially, John Still was reticent to get involved in a war of words but that stance had altered slightly with Still now recalling an incident that involved both Cambridge and Luton trying to sign Mickey Spillane.

Talking about what went on, Still has remarked,

"I wouldn`t know what resources Cambridge have, but what I do know is when we spoke to Mickey Spillane, we couldn`t match the offer that Cambridge made."

It`s an interesting comment. But continuing Still describes one of his objectives since becoming the Hatters manager, further adding,

"Since I`ve been here, I`ve purposefully bought the budget down, but that`s not something I want to get into."

"I`m just going to worry about Luton and the finance side of Cambridge is nothing to do with me."

It all adds a little spice to the forthcoming clash in the FA Trophy and the Conference clash at the Abbey Stadium that should have taken place when we played in the last round of the FA Trophy!
