A Rooney at Kenilworth Road?

A Rooney at Kenilworth Road?

Yesterday we pondered over whether John Still would be bringing anyone to Kenilworth Road before the loan window, but we didn`t expect somebody to join us on a permanent basis.

But that has been the case with it being announced that Luke Rooney has signed for Luton Town for an undisclosed fee,

Previously, Rooney had been on the books of the League clubs Gillingham and Swindon.

At Gillingham he made 15 appearances whilst at Swindon he made 32 appearances.

After being released by Swindon he moved into non-league football with Maidstone from where Luton have signed him.

Speaking about his acquisition, John Still is quoted as having remarked to the local media,

'Luke has got the ability to come up with that little bit of magic in games.'

'He's been doing very well for Maidstone. We've watched him a few times and been very impressed."

'He's a great character and he'll prove important to us in the final 10 games of the season.'

Welcome to Luton Town Football Club Luke Rooney, we hope your stay is an enjoyable one.
