Chasing the Golden Boot

Chasing the Golden Boot

Having notched up goals 29 and 30, on Monday, our prolific striker, Andre Gray, is looking to claim a massive personal reward, the Golden Boot.

Gray, who was substituted after taking his goals tally to 30, against Forest Green Rovers, is expected to be in action leading the line as Luton travel to Hyde for the last Skrill Premier game of the season.

Gray is currently 1 goal ahead of his closest rival, the Halifax striker Lee Gregory.

Whilst Luton, with Gray leading the line, takes on bottom-of-the-table Hyde, play-off chasing Halifax have a far tougher, on paper, game against Kidderminster.

Talking about why he substituted Gray on Easter Monday, John Still is quoted in the local media as having remarked,

"His hamstring was a tight and he`s missed a little bit (of training), so he`ll want to play on Saturday."

"It was the right thing to do. If he stays on and that becomes a problem, he`s not going to play in the last game and that won`t give him the best chance to score."

"So we`ll give him the best chance to get as many goals as he can."

We`re hoping that Andre can get on the score-sheet, hold off the challenge of Lee Power and claim that Golden Boot for himself.
