He`s Going Nowhere!

He`s Going Nowhere!

As we sit back and take a view of just what has gone before us this season, I can`t help thinking that Scott Griffiths was one of, or probably the, unsung heroes.

The defender is the kind of player that supporters love. Gray and Benson may have gotten the goals up front, Guttridge may have gotten the plaudits in midfield but it is the likes of Griffiths, players who give a minimum of a 7 out of 10 performance every game the fans appreciate.

Therefore, it`s pleasing to hear that Scott has cleared up any confusion relating to his immediate Kenilworth Road future. Several news sources had intimated that Scott`s contract was up this summer and that a decision had to be made over his future.

But that isn`t the case with Scott explaining to the local media,

"I don`t know why people keep saying that, I`ve got another year here."

"It seems to be completely uncommon knowledge, I got an extension after 15 games."

"Don`t get me wrong, if the fans will have me, and if the club will have me, I`d like to stay for longer."

With some valuable League experience in his locker, that is the sort of news that brings a smile to my face on this damp morning!
