'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dunstable 0 Luton Town 4

With two friendly fixtures lined up in the space of two days, it was always going to be a young side that lined up to take on Dunstable in the David Preece Memorial Trophy yesterday.

However, the young side did Luton proud as they claimed the reference trophy for a third time on Saturday afternoon.

The Hatters took the lead through new-boy Ricky Miller in the 16th minute when he finished with aplomb after collecting a ball from Solomon Taiwo.

But the home side held on well and didn`t concede a second gaol until the 70th minute when another new signing Charlie Walker scored with a low drive.

Shortly after Walker got his second of the game with a header from a Taiwo cross before Solomon Taiwo produced the best moment of the game scoring with a long range free kick.

Next up - Barnet (a) on Sunday afternoon!
