Luton refuse offers for duo
Luton Town today announced that they had rejected bids for Striker Rowan Vine and recently realised utility man Leon Barnett.
West Bromwich albion are reported in the West Midlands press as stating that they were close to signing both players and in the same press Birmingham were said to be close to signing Vine for £2.25 million before Luton upped the price to £3.5 million.
This is better news, and while it is still very possible Vine will leave in this transfer window, £3.5 million would seem to be nearer his true value when looked at in conjunction with the prices of some players recently transferred such as Gary McSheffery for £4 million.
With the Town in defensive crisis, it would be madness to consider selling Barnett and it is to be hoped that Mike Newell has made this case to the board.

I would agee Colu_Dave, but as we don't have to sell then if someone wants him then they will have to pay over the odds for him.
