Luton: Answer to the Boyd mystery

At last the mystery surrounding the lack of opportunities that Adam Boyd has had since signing for the Town, he has been suffering from a blood infection that has hampered his fitness.

The illness was mentioned on the Official club website, where, in the wake of Rowan Vine's transfer to Birmingham, Bruno spoke today of his hopes that Boyd will now step up to the task and begin to deliver.

Stein told the club's official website:

'Maybe it's time for Boydy now to take centre stage and start producing.

'People say he hasn't got pace, but he's got five yards in his head because of his movement. If you've got genuine pace but haven't got a brain then you'll be offside 30 times a game.'

Stein also mentioned his hopes that Warren Feeney can also continue to build on his recent goal scoring form now that he is having a run in the team.

Stein said:

'His (Feeney's) finishing hasn't always been fantastic, but he came here on the back of scoring 17 goals in 21 games for Stockport. We saw him and we knew what he could do because he'd played against us for Bournemouth.

'Maybe now he's going to step up to the plate and start doing it week in, week out.'
