That Was the Week That Was
Here we are, another week of the season gone and it hasn`t been a good week for the Hatters.
Last Saturday, in the local derby against our promotion rivals Stevenage, the Hatters slipped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat after conceding an early goal from a set-piece.
On Tuesday the side made the long trek to Cumbria, to take on Carlisle United in another crucial promotion clash, this time the Hatters had to be content with a 0-0 draw.
Therefore the last week has seen Luton Town Football Club, play 2 games, wining 0, drawing 1 and losing 1 accumulating just 1 point out of the 6 available. In the process the Hatters have scored 0 and conceded 2.
Some would say that is far from convincing promotion form, but, nevertheless, Luton have stayed firmly in the promotion race and are still in the hunt for, at a minimum, a play-off place.
Talking about the past week, Nathan Jones has had this to say to the local media,
'It's been a difficult week with two contrasting performances. I was far happier with Tuesday's than Saturday's, but we can't dwell on that and have another big week to look forward to.
'We're down to the business end and we're right in the hunt, but we need to make sure we're up for every game. They're all big games now, regardless of who we're playing.'
Yes they are and Luton Town are now approaching the point in the season where they cannot afford many, if any, more slip-ups.
