Hatters Picking Up Too Many Draws

Hatters Picking Up Too Many Draws

Ahead of the League Two fixture against Exeter City, Nathan Jones suggested that if Luton were to go on a long winning run then automatic promotion was a possibility.

If that is to be the case then that run was delayed by a game yesterday as the Hatters could only manage a draw with Exeter City.

The draw means that the Hatters have drawn on 14 occasions, a figure only matched by our play-off place rivals Carlisle United.

When it comes to losses, the Hatters have only been beaten 8 times all season, a figure only bettered by the League Two leaders, Doncaster Rovers.

Following the latest draw, Nathan Jones readily admitted to the local media,

'We've drawn too many games this season, and it's normally when clubs have nicked something off us against the run of play. That's the frustrating thing for us, but we're still in the hunt.

'It's definitely two points dropped, and we have to win these games if we want to achieve our goals. We showed a lot of character to come back and draw the game, but I'm disappointed because it's two points dropped."

Indeed it was, at a time when the Hatters needed to kick-on and prove themselves as worthy promotion candidates, we`ve found our form stuttering against three promotion rivals, in the shape of Stevenage, Carlisle United and Exeter City.

If promotion isn`t going to slip through our fingers a dramatic improvement is needed.
