Hatters Sign Crawley Town Striker

Hatters Sign Crawley Town Striker

After selling Jack Marriott to Peterborough, for a substantial fee, Luton Town have moved quickly to bring in his replacement.

It has been announced today that a deal has been concluded that will bring the Crawley Town striker James Collins to Kenilworth Road.

Collins joins the Hatters for what is becoming the norm these days, an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old has signed a three-year deal and moves to Luton just a year after joining Crawley.

Last season, whilst with Crawley, Collins plundered 22 goals in the 51 games he played in.

Speaking about his latest signing, to the local media, Nathan Jones is quoted as having remarked,

'James is a proven striker, especially at this level.

'To score the amount of goals that he did - without being disrespectful to anyone - in a team that was fighting relegation, was first class.'

During his career, Collins has previously played for Shrewsbury, Hibernian and Northampton making a total of 337 appearances and netting 109 times.

Here at Vital Luton Town we`d like to take this opportunity to formally welcome James Collins to Luton Town Football Club, we hope his stay is an enjoyable and successful one.
