McCormack Talks About THAT Wonder Goal

McCormack Talks About THAT Wonder Goal

Signed from Brentford, Alan McCormack was another of the Hatters new-boys who made an instant impact.

Stepping into the Luton midfield McCormack will be hoping that he can avoid the injuries that have blighted his last few seasons.

Luton fans will be hoping the player can produce some more of the stunning long-range strikes that saw him open his account for the Hatters yesterday.

Latching on to the ball some twenty-two yards out, McCormack`s volley flew past the defence and into the top corner of the net.

Talking about the strike to the media after the final whistle, McCormack had this to say,

'It was one of those sweet connections that you know as soon as it leaves your foot it's going to at least be on target, and from them on it just needed a little bit of luck.

'There were a lot of bodies in front of me and I've not had a lot of time to steady myself, and I don't remember much after that, just seeing it in the back of net. I'm sure I'll watch it back once or maybe twice.

'I've scored one or two but don't get many goals. I got a good one against Coventry for Brentford, and one against Preston which was a volley from outside the box. I'd probably class that as my favourite, but this one is up there and was a debut goal as well.

'It was nice to get a goal, everyone making their debut wants to get a goal. To get off to a start like this I don't think we could have predicted. but it's what I've expected from these players coming in and seeing how good they are, and hopefully we give those performances for 45 more games.'

Hopefully Alan, but let`s take it one game at a time shall we.
