Rome Wasn`t Built in a Day
Last season ended in real disappointment.
Reaching the play-offs the Hatters were supposed to ease past Blackpool and make the play-off final at Wembley.
But it wasn`t to be, a dramatic night at Kenilworth Road saw Luton denied that dream in the cruellest of fashions, exiting the play-offs courtesy of an injury time own goal that saw Blackpool go on to live the dream.
In the summer, Nathan Jones decided to revamp the squad, familiar faces left and new ones arrived.
But as the first day of the season approached the anticipation levels were high, the Hatters were going to go for it big-time this season and achieve automatic promotion.
The dream got off to the ideal start when Yeovil Town pitched up in our neck-of-the-woods and were beaten 8-2.
But since then it`s all been a bit hit-and-miss.
However, we should remember that we`ve got a developing team, a side that will gel more each week and, hopefully, make a charge for those automatic promotion spots.
Last night, after the 2-0 win over Port Vale, Nathan Jones spoke to the local media about the current situation, remarking,
'I do believe we're going to evolve and we're going to get better.
'They're a great group, they want to take stuff on board, but it's important we keep picking up points.'
