Accrington Stanley 0 Luton Town 2

Luton`s fine recent form continued with a decent away win at the WHAM Stadium, against Accrington Stanley.

Before the fixture, the Hatters were lying fifth in the League Two table whilst their opponents were in third place.

After a fiery start, the Hatters took the lead in the twenty-second minute when a ball in from Dan Potts was headed down by Olly Lee for the Hatters in-form striker James Collins to tap in at the far post.

Our hosts tried to hit back immediately but Jordan Clark was thwarted by the excellent Hatters keeper, Marek Stech.

Just past the half-hour mark, a melee in the box saw Potts receive a yellow card, the melee upped the ante in what was already a highly-charged encounter.

The Hatters were by far the better side and could have doubled their lead but Mark Hughes was on hand to clear a header from Luke Berry off the line.

On the stroke of half-time, Luton Town were awarded a penalty when Janoi Donacien was adjudged to have tripped Alan Sheehan in the penalty area.

Danny Hylton stepped forward to fire home from the spot, notching up his fifth goal of the season.

Stech continued to show his worth to the side by producing an excellent save to keep out a fierce shot from Scott Brown.

The win sees Luton Town climb up to third in the table as all eyes focus on promotion this season.
