Luton Town 3 Carlisle United 0

The Hatters decent home form continued against Carlisle United with Luton easing to a 3-0 win.

The win, following on from the 7-0 demolition of Cambridge United means that the Kenilworth Road support have certainly had value for money in the last few days.

The result, courtesy of Notts County dropping points, also means that the Hatters have moved back to the top of the table, albeit on goal difference.

Against Carlisle United, who were on a seven-game unbeaten run, Luton has to weather an early storm with efforts from Halum Hope, Shaun Miller and Hope again giving the home support cause for concern.

But, those concerns were eased when in the 19th minute the Hatters took the lead. The goal was a sublime one with Andrew Shinnie curling a brilliant effort past the despairing dive of the Carlisle keeper, Jack Bonham.

The Hatters lead was doubled in the 30th minute when a free-kick, taken by Alan Sheehan, was met by the diving Dan Potts who headed home his third girl in three consecutive League Two fixtures.

The Hatters recent goal-fest continued in the seventy-sixth minute when, Harry Cornick, on as a substitute, raced away to score.

Luton had a chance to make it 4-0 late-on when Danny Hylton was brought down in the penalty area, unfortunately Hylton, who dusted himself down to take the kick, saw his poor spot-kick parried away by Bonham in the Carlisle goal.

Another decent win and Luton Town are definitely the form team in League Two at the moment, long may it continue.
