Grimsby Town 0 Luton Town 1
The Hatters take the three-points on offer with a determined display against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.
The victory against Grimsby, sees the Hatters move nine-points clear at the top of the League Two table, a wonderful position to be in as the month of February approaches.
But, at Blundell Park, Luton had to battle hard to beat Grimsby after the Hatters were reduced to ten-men following the sending off, of Jordan Cook.
Cook saw red after picking up two yellow cards in a combative opening forty-five minutes.
But, being down to ten-men didn`t faze the Hatters and in the 49th minute Luton scored the only goal of the game.
It came courtesy of James Collins who was on hand to bundle the ball home after a goalmouth melee following a corner from Alan Sheehan that had seen Luke Berry see his shot tipped on to the cross-bar by the Grimsby keeper, Ben Killip.
Although Grimsby pushed for an equaliser, the Hatters held firm and the Mariners will reflect on a first-half effort from Luke Summerfield that shook the Luton cross-bar.
Promotion is surely Luton`s to throw away now as they lead the pack by a comfortable margin.
