Luton Town 2 Wycombe Wanderers 3
The Hatters slipped to a home defeat at Kenilworth Road against Wycombe Wanderers.
Wycombe arrived at Kenilworth Road on a hot run of form and showed, against the league leaders, they`ll be there or thereabouts when it comes to the promotion places being handed out come May.
Wycombe got off to the perfect start, when they scored after just two minutes. Stech did well to save a shot from Nathan Tyson but the striker reacted the quickest to provide an assist for Paris Cowan-Hall to score.
The Hatters tried to get that equaliser but were denied when the Wycombe keeper, Scott Brown, denied Elliot Lee with a good save in the 20th minute.
James Collins, in the 29th minute, also saw the Wycombe keeper put an end to his hopes of getting Luton back on level terms with another decent save.
However, the Hatters were to go 2-0 down in the 39th minute when Tyson was on hand to smash the ball home from close-range.
Just before half-time, Luton did pull a goal back when Elliot Lee was able to find the bottom corner of the net with his strike.
Luton, pushing for an equaliser in the second-half, saw a free-kick from Alan Sheehan pushed away by Brown in the Wycombe goal and the visitors, in the 70th minute, increased their lead when Tyson raced clear to beat Stech with a decent finish.
Refusing to give up hope, the Hatters pulled a goal-back, making it 2-3, when lee netted his second of the game, beating the Wycombe keeper at the second attempt.
A tense finish almost saw Luton snatch an equaliser but when put through Harry Cornick fluffed his lines and shot straight at the goalkeeper.
Next up for Luton is a home game against another side flying high in the table, Exeter City, this Saturday.
