The Hatters slipped to a stoppage time defeat, against Accrington Stanley, courtesy of a goal from Billy Kee.
The defeat sees the Hatters knocked off the top of the table for the first-time since November, with Accrington Stanley taking over.
In front of a crowd of in excess of nine thousand, the Hatters fell behind just before half-time when, having dominated a period of play, Sean McConville scored with a sublime curling shot.
Prior to the goal, Luton had seen chances fall to Dan Potts, who had a header cleared off the line, and Elliot Lee who saw a long-range effort saved by Aaron Chapman in the Accrington goal.
Chances also fell to Danny Hylton who saw Chapman parry away an effort and Potts who saw a second header cleared off the line.
The Hatters equalised ion the hour mark when Elliot Lee collected a long raking pass from Jack Stacey before cutting inside his marker to finally beat Chapman.
But, with the game looking as if it would be a case of the spoils being shared, up-stepped Billy Kee to score from 20-yards out to beat Stech in the Luton goal.
Next up for Luton is a trip to Coventry this Tuesday evening, Luton go there needing to get a moral boosting victory.
