Too late to save us I think! Whoever takes over will have their work cut out to rescue the situation from 8 games.

Its an Absolute F#@*ing disgrace, DISGRACE. How the F##k can you feed Mike pennies all season and expect him to come up with a Promotion winning team?. The bloke was the ONLY passionate guy at Luton and they sack him...... The board should hang their heads in Shame... and a Noose wouldn,t go amiss either !!!!!
LORD LUTON
THE BOARD HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS LEFT UNANSWERED ABOUT THIS SEASON AND THEY ALL BEGIN WITH WHY !!! WHY SACK THE MANAGER WITH ONLY 8 GAMES LEFT ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY SACK THE MANAGER WITHOUT A REPLACEMENT READY TO TAKE OVER THE HOT SEAT WITH SO FEW GAMES LEFT ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY SELL SO MANY OF LAST SEASONS BEST PLAYERS AND THEN TRY AND COMPETE AGAINST BIGGER EX PREMIERSHIP CLUBS ON THE CHEAP ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY ARE YOU HAPPY TAKING LUTON TOWN ,AFTER 3/4 SEASONS OF GROWTH AND GOOD TIMES ,BACKWARDS ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY ARE YOU INVOLVED WITH LUTON TOWN ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ? WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A NEW STADIUM YET ,RATHER THAN JUST HOT AIR ,LOOK HOW QUICK OTHER TEAMS GET PLANNING PERMISSION AND STADIUM BUILT ,WHILE YOU AND THE COUNCIL JUST DRAG YOUR HEELS ? GET THE MESSAGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

losing to hull and leeds did cause this, but he worked wonders for luton and to prove the managers position is the hardest job in the world to keep falls victim to a bad league position. Who will replace him>
thedunedan
They probably wanted him out due to lack of results and he gave them the excuse with the comments he made after the Hull game. He has been given two previous verbal warnings; it's almost as if he wanted out.
scotty
YOU COULD BE RIGHT THERE SCOTTY..HE WALKS AWAY WITH A NICE BIT OF COMPO AND NO RELEGATION ON HIS C.V !!!!!!

Maybe what he said was true but you don't say it when it's about the people who employ you!

I'm a Col U fan. Here is my verdict on him. He went because of sll of his comments during the season - eg. women refs, and berating this own empoloyers - which he admitted in the Daily Mail as: 'I said every one he's got involved in, he's messed up,’ said Newell. 'And I said I don't know what he’s doing here. If I'm totally honest, and I am, the comments about the female official were premeditated." "I wanted to attract attention to what I said about the chairman. If I'd just had a rant about the chairman, I wouldn't have made headlines because nobody outside Luton is really interested in Luton Town." So you see - get a man with an ego at a club, and combine his ambition with Luton, who as someone above rughtly said, have sold all thier best players, and also will seemigly never move to a new ground, and then this happens. Eqaully stupid was the idea of giving him a new contract that was so long. Mike Newell's ego has given him the sack. As he also said that he knows how much good he has done since taking over in 2003. I don't like him, personally, but this is his best and most true soundbite: "Everybody else. Ex-players, media, punters, can say what they like. But people actually in the game have to be careful. I don't regret anything I've said and I know there are plenty who agree with me. It annoys me that so many people in the game — highranking football officials among them — have called me to tell me that I'm right." The relationship, not helped by recent results, sealed his fate. What price Mick Hartford (Colchester's No 2) to take over?
