Luton: Chairman resigns
Luton Town today issued the following Press Release:
Luton Town Football Club has today announced that its Chairman Mr Bill Tomlins has stepped down from the Board of Directors of the Club.
Earlier this year Mr Tomlins approached The Football Association requesting a meeting to clarify certain matters relating to the Football Club. Following this meeting, The Football Association is currently carrying out an enquiry.
Mr Tomlins commented 'There has been too much disruption surrounding the Club in recent months and I feel it is appropriate for me to stand down at this time. I have been involved with the Club for many years and it has been an honour to be the Club's Chairman and I would like to take this opportunity to wish it every success in the future.'
The Board recognisies the contribution made by Mr Tomlins while he was Chairman of the Club.
As this matter is now with The Football Association there will be no further comment by the Club until the enquiry has been completed.
