Luton Youth Boss Goes
Luton Town Youth coach Marvin Johnson has been released from his role after 22 years with the club.
38-year-old Johnson is the epitome of the one club player, and it is scant reward for his loyalty that he has been removed from his position.
Marvin played for the club as a scholar and worked his way up through the ranks to make 373 appearances for the first team between 1987 and 2002 scoring 7 goals.
He became a coach on his retirement from playing and took over as youth team manager three years ago, after another Town stalwart, John Moore was hounded out.
Last season, under Johnson, the Under 18 team finished in sixth place in the Puma Youth Alliance South East Conference and won the Beds Floodlit Youth Cup in an 8-0 final victory over AFC Dunstable.
Johnson was told this morning of the club's decision to release him from his role.
Brian Stein's future would seem to be doubtful in the wake of this decision.
