Parkin ready for challenge

After a nightmare season with ongoing ankle problems, Sam Parkin aims to be 100% fit for the pre-season training when the players return from their summer break on June 28.

He had to watch Luton's slide down the table, and out of the Championship, from the sidelines, and he is disappointed to be back at the level of his former successes. However, he said that he feels he can be a force in League 1 for Luton Town and is looking forward to scoring the goals to take the Hatters back to the Championship.

His comments, reported in Luton on Sunday, were encouraging and shows his commitment to the club, who have had very little out of him, so far, for such a big investment.

He told the newspaper:

'I'll be working hard and making sure I'm ready to train with the rest of the squad. I need to do everything in my power to make sure I'm right.

'It's been very frustrating, but the thing to think about when you have had a major operation that is for the sake of your career it had to be done.

'I want to be a success here and you can only do that if you are 100 per cent fit. Now I'm nearing fitness I'm confident I can go on and become a good player for this club.'

Meanwhile, reports in the media elsewhere suggest that Adam Boyd is keen to move and end his nightmare spell at Luton, with Swansea keen to sign him.

Good luck Sam - never really got a chance at Chelsea!

Poor bloke hasn't had any luck with injuries for nearly two years. I'm sure he'll score goals if he can get over the ankle injury.

he'll be like a new signing for us

I agree very unlucky bloke with the injuries, but hopefully he is through the worst now. He could do so well given the chance
