Luton confirm Perry signing

Luton Town have this morning confirmed their fifth signing of the transfer window with former Tottenham and Charlton central defender Chris Perry coming to Kenilworth Road.

He joins on a two year contract.

The experienced 34-year-old was released by West Bromwich Albion at the end of last season.

Perry made 23 league starts for the Baggies last season. In a 16 yr career he has scored 10 goals in 468 appearances.



Speaking to www.lutontown.co.uk, Perry said:

"I was contacted over the last couple of days by my agent saying that Kevin Blackwell wanted to sign me at Luton.

"I was very interested about the move and when I spoke to Kevin he was very positive about the future and the direction the Club are looking to take.

"He basically persuaded me to sign. I was impressed in general by the overall outlook of the Club and I think they have a very good chance of returning to the Championship next season."

The persuasive Kevin Blackwell has already signed midfielder Dave Edwards, 21, from Shrewsbury Town for a fee to be decided and left-back Alan Goodall, 25, Paul Furlong,38, and Darren Currie, 32, all on free transfers.

The Town are expected to announce the signing of Paul Peschisolido once technicalities over the terms of his release from Derby County have been sorted out, hopefully today.
