Luton's pre-season matches

The Schedule of pre-season friendlies is about to begin. Pictured above is a stadium that the Hatterswon't be seeing much of!

Luton start their preparations in Cyprus Travelling next Monday, training on Tuesday and playing in a match on Wednesday in Nicosia.

Upon their return a Luton XI will play a friendly at Hitchin Town before flying off to their Scandinavian tour. The tour, originally arranged in Sweden, was switched to Norway after it was found that there is a major International Youth Tournament taking place at the same time.

The Luton First Team squad will play against Sandnes Ulf at 7-45 pm on Wed 18th July and against Algard at 2 pm on Saturday 21st July.

Sandnes Ulf finished second in Group 3 of Norway's Division Two last season, and Algard also play in the same division.

uton will return home on Sunday 22nd July.

While the big boys are away, the reserves will take on Leighton Town on Wednesday 18th at 7-45 pm and Rugby Town on Saturday 21st July at 3 pm.

On Wednesday 25th July a mixed team will play at Dagenham and Redbridge at 7-45 pm. This was originally intended to be a first team friendly, but in view of having been drawn against them in the Carling Cup, the manager did not want to show his hand to them 10 days before the clash.

On Saturday 28th July the First Team play at Rushden & Diamonds at 3 pm and on the following Monday (30th) they visit Oxford United for a 7-45 pm KO.

On Thursday 2nd August, the reserves will take on Dunstable at Arlesey Town FC in the Beds Premier Cup.

The first team squad play their last friendly match against Stevenage Borough at Broadhall Way on Saturday 4th August at 3 pm and the reserves end their preparations with a 7-45 pm KO at Hemel Hempstead on Tuesday 7th August.

The following Saturday, having played all their pre-season friendlies away from home, Luton start their League 1 campaign in earnest at Kenilworth Road against Hartlepool United.
