Luton: Pesch hoping for run out

Paul Peschisolido said today on his icons.com website:

'My ankle is getting much better, I've trained a bit and I'm hoping for a bit of a run-out in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Northampton tonight.

I was carrying the injury at the start of the season and it's one of the reasons I wasn't happy with my performances. I didn't do myself justice and that's quite frustrating. But I'm confident that, if I'm fully fit, I will do a job for Luton.

I normally score on my debut and so I was disappointed that didn't happen, but with time the goals will come. Hopefully the fans will get to see the best of me soon.

We've had a decent start but the Leeds match was a bit disappointing. It could have gone either way and to lose to the only goal was a bit frustrating.

I was right in the middle when there was a bit of a bust-up between the managers, but it was all just in the heat of the moment.

Obviously winning your home games is crucial but it's important to pick up points on the road as well. It would have been good to get at least a point at Leeds and we probably deserved that.

It's early days but it's nice to be up amongst the top part of the table and now we have to push on and make sure we don't get any gaps appearing above us.

I think beating a side like Sunderland 3-0 in the Carling Cup has given the squad a lot of confidence and that is going to be massively important. Football is all about confidence and it's great to know we have that in us. We played Sunderland off the park and they are a really good side.

I look at this squad and I'm convinced it's one of the strongest in the division. Anything other than an automatic promotion place would be a failure. In our own minds we are an automatic promotion team.

Jaroslav Fojut has come in and he looks like a big, strong lad who can do a solid job in the defence. He's come from Bolton and he obviously has a lot of presence. I just can't wait to get back in contention for a first team place and help push Luton towards that promotion place.'
