Hull City vs. Luton Town

Kentucky Fried Chicken!

Hull v Luton

A couple of seasons ago, Luton and Hull City were vying for the League 1 title, with Luton taking the accolade quite comfortably in the end. Since then the fortunes of the two sides could not have been more different. Hull have parted with some serious money but have seen little success, flirting with relegation last season and already rock bottom this year. Luton meanwhile on a shoestring budget have given the wealthy clubs at the top of the table something to think about before finishing tenth last year and continuing to reside around that point this year.

Hull City Team News:

After a defeat away at Burnley, Phil Parkinson may change his side for this match.

Alton Thelwell may be replaced by Danny Coles with Danny Mills moving to right-back . Dean Marney could be dropped after failing to impress at Burnley. John Welsh may come into the team alongside Ian Ashbee in central midfield.

Up-front, Nicky Forster is pushing for a starting place whilst Stuart Elliott may also be in contention. Nick Barmby and Stephen McPhee remain sidelined.

Damien Delaney may be in contention for a starting place after forty-five minutes of reserve football last week.

Player to watch: Mark Yeates

A clever winger with a burst of pace and a good cross on him, he will give the Luton full backs something to think about.

Luton Town Team News:

Injuries and illness strike again in the Town camp.

Lewis Emanuel definitely misses out with a hamstring strain sustained in Saturday's humiliation of Brum.Steve Robinson has tonsilitis and Carlos Edwards has man-flu, and both are said to be major doubts. I wouldn't be surprised if Robbo makes it though.

David Bell is in line for his first start after impressing on Saturday (told you so! :-))

Also Dean Morgan did his chances no harm when he came on last Saturday.

Player to watch: Rowan Vine

In the scoring form of his life, although he will miss the service provided by Carlos Edwards if the Trinidad and Tobago star is absent.

Match Prediction:

On paper it should be a stroll for Luton but they rarely perform as well against teams placed low in the table so it may be a tight game. I hope the Town will have a little too much for the Tigers Hull 0 Luton 1 (Parkin to get back into scoring ways.)
